Email Forwarding

Do you want to get mails from your other email accounts to the one you use regularly?
Then, know about 'email forwarding'. Follow the steps....

->Go to the account which you want to forward the mails to the id you regularly check.
->Go to 'Settings' and select 'Add a forwarding address(Yahoo)/Forwarding and POP/IMAP(Gmail)'.
->Add the email id you regulary check, confirm the message and click on 'Proceed'. A verification code will be sent to your regular email id.
->Open another tab and open your regular email.
->Copy the code and paste it in the 1st email id and click on verify.
->Now tick on 'Forward a copy of incoming mail to' and select the type of forwarding, whether to keep it in both the email ids or not.
->Click on 'Save Changes'.
->Finished :-)

Now you will get the mails from the other email id to your regular email id.

How to remove lyrics/voice from an audio song?

Want to remove lyrics/voice from a song?

Download Audacity software from

How to use it??

Install the software & Import the song you want to edit.
Click on 'Track Title' which opens 'Track' menu.
Select 'Split Stereo Track' option.
Now click on 'Mute/Solo' button and select 'Lower Track'.
Go to 'Effects' menu & select 'Invert'.
Now from Track menu, set every Track as Mono.
Then press 'Play' which plays only music.
Atlast, go to 'File' menu & select on 'Export' option which allows us to save the file.

Useful Android Applications

         Let us discuss some useful android applications in this post. Android allows us more than 3lakhs of applications to download from Android market. So, by opening Play Store application from your mobile, we can download by searching the application we needed. You can search the applications by category wise. I'm giving you here some useful applications and their uses only. So, search from Play Store and download them.

Google Applications:

* Gmail: To send, read & manage mails. Shows us notifications when a new mail received(to be set).
* Plus One: Social Networking app that allows us to stay connected with our buddies. Hope most of you know this.
* Google Maps: To search the place you want on map and get directions, places nearby, distance from your location .......
* Youtube: Watch/Upload/Manage the videos you want from this app.
* Blogger: It allows us to write blogs on the go. You can even add Photos & Videos to your blog. Very useful for bloggers like me. This post was also written through this app.
* Google Googles: This application allows us to search the objects present in the photo we took. Useful if you use.
* Skype: Allows us to make voice/video calls for free to the other skype user in online. We can make calls to mobiles/landlines at cheaper rates. We need skype credits for this.
* Picasa: Photo viewer & editor.
* Gtalk: To chat with your Google email contacts in online.

Social Networks:
* Facebook: Allows us to access our facebook account. Upload/Share Photos/Posts with your friends.
* Twitter: Allows to access your Twitter account. Follow a tweet or comment, Share links.
* Whats App Messenger: Allows us to send Instant messages for chatting, send files like photos, videos, voice notes. Very popular app for Instant chatting.
* Nimbuzz: Allows to chat with our email/social network contacts online. We can send files too. Ebuddy Messenger, Viber are some of this type.

Others:
* Avast anti-virus: Anti-virus from avast. Virus scanner, Anti-theft, ..... facilities available.
* Android Booster: Boosts up the performance of the mobile. Shows battery meter, application that using more power, closes apps with a single tap. Useful for every user. NQ Android Booster also has the same features.
* Hide pics & vids Vaulty: The name itself says its use. Hides the pictures & videos from SD card not allowing any application to show/open the. Good app.
* Opera mini: Browser that allows us to browse the internet. This app is better than UC Browser for Android. Dolphin browser also not as good as Opera, but have more features. Chrome browser available for higher than Android 2.3 versions.
* Winamp: Media player that plays the media content. Supports most of the formats. By downloading VPlayer, you can even play .mov & .avi files. MX player is an another media player.
* Advance SMS Manager: Allows us to schedule the SMS to a particular time. It also allows to send SMS for a contact at specified intervals & dates. Useful if you have SMS offer.
* MP3 Cutter: As the name indicates, it is used to cut bits from the selected song. Useful.
* Tube Mate: This app allows us to download the videos from youtube. Copying the url & pasting it in this app. Try.
* Dictionary.com: An app that shows the meaning for english words in telugu. Also shows us how to pronounce it. Good app. Eng2Tel also a dictionary app. It shows us the meaning in telugu with some examples too.
* All India Bank Info: Shows the addresses of the branches of most of the banks in India.
* Yupp TV, Indian TV Channels, Telugu Live TV: These apps allows us to watch TV in your mobile. Useful if used with 3G internet.
* APP2SD: This app allows us to move the applications from phone memory to SD card. Useful. We can even move from applications settings as discussed in earlier posts.
* Photoshop/Pic Say Editor: Allows us to edit with more options & upload to social networks or send through mail or to bluetooth devices.
* Documents to Go/Kingsoft Office: Allows us to view office files in your mobile. Kingsoft Office allows to create new office files also, whereas Documents to Go allows this feature in paid version. Useful. You can download Adobe Reader too to view pdf files.
* CamCard: Automatically enters the contact details from visiting cards.
* aTorrent: Allows us to download torrent files. Useful for most of the netizens.
* State Bank Freedom: Allows to access your State Bank account. Pay phone bills, recharge to your mobile, money transfer, online payments, ....... But you should apply for mobile banking in your bank. HDFC, ICICI banks too have their apps.
* News Hunt: An app that allows us to view most of the Indian News Papers covering most of the languages. Recently added job search too.
* Times Jobs: An app of timesjobs.com that shows the job suggestions according to your qualification. Useful app.
* ESPN Cricinfo: An app that shows us the live cricket news.

Apart from these, there are many more apps that are useful in daily usage. When come to games, they cover most of the RAM memory, so am not giving them here.

Useful Tips:
-> Set screen lock for your mobile to have privacy.
-> Disable 'enable background data' option when you dont use Play Store.
-> Run Android Booster every day.
-> Restart your mobile before going to play games, to have gaming experience.
-> Clear the cache of the apps in 'Manage applications' in 'Application' settings.
-> Make sure that you have more than 100MB of space in SD card.
-> Set camera settings according to your need. Setting to superfine quality for videos occupies more space than your expectations.! 1GB free space in SD card is a good choice.
-> Move apps from Phone memory to SD card to maintain standard performance from your mobile.
-> Disconnect data connection every time you get off from the internet, to save data usage.
-> Save Battery, Save Energy, Save Environment.

Applications settings in Android

          Under these settings, based on the mobile phone model and price, we have 5 options. Let us discuss them here.

* Unknown Sources - Tap on the box present here to allow the installation of non-market applications (not only from android market) too to your mobile phone.

* Manage Applications - This option shows us the installed applications in our phone. We can stop the process, uninstall, clear cache, clear data of the selected application. We can even move the application from phone to SD card and viceversa.

* Running Services - This option shows us the applications running in the memory(RAM). We can stop the process or report to Google on that application.

* Storage Use - This option shows us the memory used by all the applications. Here we can uninstall any application we want to.

* Development - Here we have USB debugging (useful when connected to PC through USB cable), Stay Awake (whether to allow the screen not to sleep while charging), Allow mock locations.

Wireless & Networks settings in Android

         Let us discuss the Wireless & Network settings of Android in this post.

The options present in these settings are:

  * Airplane Mode - whether to put our network in Airplane mode where you cant call a contact /send a msg, use data connection. To turn it on, tap on the box present there.

  * Wi-Fi - To turn on the Wi-Fi (a wireless network)

  * Wi-Fi Settings - Here you can turn on Wi-Fi, show Wi-Fi network notifications, add Wi-Fi network, add Proxy and Proxy Settings.
        To share your data connection to other Wi-Fi devices like Laptops, Tablets, Mobile Phones, you just need to set up a Wi-Fi network. Let us discuss it later in this post itself.

  * Bluetooth - To turn on the bluetooth connection.

  * Bluetooth Settings - Here you can turn on Bluetooth, edit your device name, to set discoverable time for other mobiles. In advanced settings, option to scan for devices and shows the devices that are paired already to your mobile.

  * Tethering & Portable hotspot - Here you can have options for USB tethering, portable Wi-Fi hotspot, portable Wi-Fi settings. Here you can share your data to other Wi-Fi devices as said earlier.
Follow the steps below:-
1) Tap on the portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
2) Go to portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings and tap on Configure option.
3) You will get a window where you should enter the details like Network SSID(Name of your Wi-Fi), Security(whether to allow your network open for all/to password protect it), Password(enter a password for closed network).
4) Now turn on Wi-Fi in the other device and pair it with your mobile.
5) Now turn on the data connection in your mobile, where the other device can use it.

  * VPN Settings - Oops, i dont know about this.

  * Mobile Networks - Here you can know your data usage by tapping on Data Usage option, set your network mode(whether GSM/WCDMA, WCDMA(3G), GSM only), set access points for data usage, manually select the Network operator from the list shown.

Regular Settings in Android

          As i'm facing a little difficulty in typing in my touch mobile, i'm leaving the simple settings (Sim Management, Call Settings, User Profiles, Display, Location, Security, Accounts and Synchronization, Privacy, Storage, Language and Keyboard, Voice Input and Output, Accessibility, Date and Time, Schedule Power On/Off, About Phone). But i'll touch some features of them here.
  -> To make rotate your screen automatically as you turn your mobile, go to Display settings.
  -> To know the location where you are, using wireless networks & GPS, go to Location settings.
  -> To set Screen Lock, SIM Lock,..... go to Security settings.
  -> To set whether to sync with the accounts like Gmail, Facebook,..... in background(data connection needed), go to Accounts & Sync settings.
  -> To backup application data, Wi-Fi passwords, other data to Google servers and to reset mobile to factory reset, go to Privacy settings.
  -> To know your mobile phone details like model no., OS version, Kernel version, ........., go to About Phone settings.
